sometimes.

sometimes... you take a step back from the computer, the iPhone, the tv, and the Netflix and take a friend's offer to 'go camping' on a Saturday.
sometimes... it feels good to get your feet dirty (filthy dirty) and sit around a campfire.
sometimes... you spend 23.5 hours with the exact same friends and you love every single second of it.
sometimes... for the first time (ever), you are in a tent, and snuggle in your sleeping bag while breathing in the intoxicating fresh air.
sometimes... a morning canoe ride with your husband is required.
sometimes... all you eat for dinner, breakfast, and lunch is made on a campfire.
sometimes... you come away from a camping trip with new inside jokes, new games, and a renewed love for outdoors.

Holy smokes! You went camping? Did you have to use the outdoors as your bathroom?

Sounds fun! Maybe you'll want to go camping with the fam now =)

That sounds so lovely right about now! I am huge into camping, but every once in a while I have this huge urge to get out of the city and be somewhere still and quiet. And now is one of those times :) Glad you had fun!

A warmth feel us when we rediscover ourselves and others through simple - almost basic - things.
Lovely pics that paint so well the peace you experienced.
Good for you!

I love camping! I haven't been in a few years, but it always reminds me of being a kid. My family used to take trips around the fourth of july. We'd always have parades around the park on the fourth and go on the lake. Sometimes.. life gets the best of us and we forget how important being outside with friends is.

Thanks for the advice on making meals for two. It's good to know I'm not the only one who struggles with it!
